Production Cook– Celebration – Part Time
Celebration seeks to hire a Production Cook who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:
Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital, Florida Hospital Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida. The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. All within a "living laboratory" of groundbreaking, research-driven clinical solutions that integrate mind, body and spirit in the defeat of illness and disease.

Department Profile:
The Florida Hospital Celebration Health Nutritional Services department is an engaged and committed team of food service and customer service professionals. Our mission is “we promote health and healing by nourishing with compassion”. The department has 3 distinct services that include patient services, retail services (cafes and catering), and clinical services. Retail services (cafes and catering) includes chefs, cooks, cashiers, and servers who work together to ensure that tasty, healthy and fresh food is prepared and served with expertise and care.

Work Hours/Shifts:
Generally working on floating shifts between the hours of 5 am - 8:30 pm. Must be able to work weekends.

Job Summary:
Actively participates in an outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Under the direction of the Managing chef, responsible for preparation of all foods and related items for cafeteria and\or catering customers and\ or food for patients. Ensures that all food production is produced according to recipe specifications and proper procedures. Ensures that all products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Records product temperatures and monitors holding times as appropriate. Meets all production deadlines. Demonstrates cost conscious behaviors in all aspects. Adheres to all sanitation, safety, cleanliness and food storage standards. Assists with serving customers and provides world-class customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English well to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to follow, read and write recipes as needed .
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Preferred)
  • Food Service line cook or lead cook experience (Preferred)
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • ServSafe or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Ensures that all cold and hot food products are stored and produced according to recipe specifications and proper procedures.
  • Adheres to all sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards; monitors and records food and/or equipment temperatures.
  • Continually checks food for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Takes corrective action when needed.
  • Minimizes food waste by preparing the amount needed, without running out; ensures proper portioning.
  • Is proactive to prepare substitutions for foods that may run out; effectively and proactively communicates those shortages and substitutions to the appropriate people.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure a smooth operation of the department.
