We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Population Health Senior Analyst position that will be based in our PHSO department. This position is based in Maitland, FL.

The Population Health Senior Analyst is responsible for data analytic strategies focused on reducing overall healthcare costs and utilization for specific populations by employing various methodologies (risk segmentation, episode analyses, utilization and participation analyses, outcome comparisons, etc.). The Population Health Senior Analyst engages clients (health plans, leaders, providers) in reviewing population health data including but not limited to health outcomes, clinical performance, key service line delivery, and recommendations for improvements in health and wellness, population management, and waste reduction. The Analyst uses analytics to gain insights into member behavior, member preferences, operational effectiveness, and client-specific health gaps and partners with business and operational owners to identify and execute program improvement opportunities. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Specific job duties include:

  • Prepares analysis and statistical data the organization can use to make operational changes, target specific goals, and refine population health strategies; explains these activities to a sophisticated analytic audience as well as translates these activities into general terms for non-technical audiences and senior leaders

  • Performs defined analyses to assess proper outcome metrics for population health programs/ initiative; builds, tests, and validates selection algorithms

  • Develops quality assurance measures around member intervention initiatives to ensure execution and gain understanding of shifting populations and other trends

  • Identifies any negative variances between actual performance and targets for determined metrics, implements interventions to remediate these negative variances, and monitors effectiveness of the solutions

  • Develops and maintains expert level of knowledge on risk segmentation, episodes of care, bundled payments, and other industry-specific metrics

  • Identifies and proposes opportunities for process improvement and prepares written documentation; responsible for attending various types of meetings at different campuses as required

  • Displays and interprets data in clear and concise tables, graphics and reports

  • Builds strong relationships with leadership, customers, and peers. Communicates appropriately and effectively with stakeholders, customers and supervisors, maintaining awareness of any issues, potential delays, and any situation of concern that may affect the productivity of supported programs, processes and systems.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Analytics department. Automatically looks for extra work as workload permits.


Experience Requirements:
  • At least five years of analytic experience
  • Technical experience in utilizing analytical software tools and applications

  • Experience in analytics with emphasis in healthcare and/or clinical application and health insurance finances (Preferred)

  • Experience with statistical applications (Preferred)

  • Experience with analytics interfaces such as QlikView or Tableau(Preferred)

  • Experience working with healthcare, insurance or claims data(Preferred)

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Statistics or related field
