Our mission is to provide an environment where students can develop spiritually,
intellectually, socially, and physically while pursuing professional expertise integrated
with Christian values.
PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:
At Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU) our primary customers are students, faculty and staff.
Our partners are physicians, allied health clinicians and other employees of Florida Hospital.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining
relationships that are equally respectful to all. Assists students with developing effective study habits, use
of appropriate learning resources and learning strategies to accelerate the student’s cognitive
development.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to function as a peer tutor for professional program students
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
N/A
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Currently registered student at ADU.
Has received a grade of “B” or better in any course tutored.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Enrolled in a AS , BS or Graduate Program at ADU
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
N/A
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Certified by the National Tutoring Association
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the “Four Words”
Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality and Stewardship.
Functions at the discretion of the program coordinator in appropriate courses based on curriculum
and facilitates individual and group sessions in the Student Success Center and designated
classrooms.
Assists the student in developing effective learning strategies.
Assists students in use of appropriate equipment and resources to stimulate subject knowledge and
improve critical thinking skills.
