We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Supply Chain EDI Specialist position that will be based in our Supply Chain Shared Services department.

The Supply Chain EDI Specialist is responsible for handling EDI transactions and ANSI mappings. The EDI Specialist on-boards new vendors and maintains vendor relationships. Responsible for monitoring EDI data exchanged to diagnose and troubleshoot technical errors and failures. The EDI specialist acts as a liaison for the AHS Shared Services Procurement Department and AHS trading partners. The EDI Specialist is responsible for leading new projects and reviewing, researching, and testing EDI capabilities to make recommendations used for enhancements. The EDI Specialist shall be responsible for punch-out creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The EDI Specialist is responsible for growing EDI vendors and maximizing the use of the following EDI transactions: 850 – Purchase Order, 855 – Purchase Order Acknowledgement, 856 – Advanced Shipping Notice, 810 – Invoice and 820 - Payment or Order Remittance Advice.

Specific job duties include:
  • Monitors daily electronic EDI transactions; Provides on-going production support; Regularly monitors performance and status of EDI systems
  • Manages EDI vendor relationships and leads the addition of new vendor account numbers as related to EDI processes with Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) systems. This requires an extensive understanding of the vendor number relationships and on-boarding process within PeopleSoft and GHX systems to ensure the data is routed correctly
  • Works closely with iSynergy project teams and trading partners to ensure new hospital launches of PeopleSoft ERP systems and EDI transactions are seamless to the user and procurement group
  • Translates highly technical data interfaces into understandable concepts for senior leadership and non-EDI
  • Engages vendors to increase EDI adoption of various transactions such as the 850- Purchase Order and 810 - Invoice
  • Provides vendors and end-users with support on technical integration issues in collaboration with IT department
  • Communicates with other team members and shared services teams as necessary to resolve issues
  • Serves as an escalation point for resolution on EDI issues
  • Notifies internal customers on any relevant issues with trading partners
  • Troubleshoots issues related to all EDI transactions; proposes solutions to issues
  • Collaborates with business users to research, design, develop, and test new capabilities and system enhancements. This includes root-cause analysis and requires an understanding of potential failure points to include human factors and system factors
  • Leads and participates in EDI implementation projects. Provides cross-functional support, coordination, and planning
  • Responsible for training and implementing new processes and system enhancements
  • Able to learn new tools and processes quickly




Qualifications:


Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in EDI systems required
  • 5+ years in PeopleSoft 9.1 or 9.2 FSCM modules preferred
  • 5+ years in healthcare industry EDI transaction types (850, 855, 856, 810, and 820) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with GHX systems preferred
  • Experience in a shared services organization preferred



Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college required or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience required

  • Immediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to plan and organize tasks and projects effectively

  • Ability to multitask and adjust to meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot, recommend and implement solutions
  • High proficiency in ANSI x12 data standards preferred
