Florida Hospital Kissimmee seeks to hire Physical Therapy Aide II / Technical Aide who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:
Florida Hospital Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation has thirteen unique outpatient locations throughout Central Florida. Our specialty services include medical fitness and massage, orthopedic and sports injuries, wound care, brain injury, dysphasia, joint pain, pediatric conditions and injuries, pelvic health rehabilitation, amputation, hearing services, facial paralysis, neurological rehabilitation, vestibular/balance, lymphedema, concussion, and stroke.

Department Profile:
Florida Hospital Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation – Kissimmee offers physical and occupational therapy for adolescent, adult and elderly patients for a variety of orthopedic diagnoses ranging from pre- and post-surgical to minor sprains and strains.

Work Hours/Shifts:
Monday-Friday, days may vary. Hours may vary.

Job Summary:
Non-licensed worker who is specifically trained to perform duties necessary to expedite the efficient functioning of the department. As allowed by State Practice Act and under the supervision of a therapist/therapist assistant/ATC/RN, assists with providing direct and indirect services to a specific age group in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows (Preferred)


Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
  • N/A
  • CPR Certificate (Preferred)


Job Responsibilities:

  • Works without close supervision, consulting with supervisors/managers when appropriate, seeking approval and advice on situations outside personal authority and expertise as observed by the Team Manager/RN.
  • Maintains professional and functional work environment by keeping equipment and work areas clean, appropriately stocked and orderly.
  • Assists in maintaining all department equipment in safe and proper working order by checking it prior to use
  • Completes reports and work orders and sequesters all confirmed or suspected malfunctioning equipment.
  • . Ensures that electrical equipment is maintained (PM checks) on a yearly or on as needed basis, as evident by maintaining timely, accurate and legible records.
  • Anticipates needs and prepares to assist with patient care.
  • Ensures patient and staff safety by recognizing situations which place patient or staff at risk and responds appropriately.
  • Assists staff with patient care, treatment and other tasks by correctly and promptly carrying out assigned activities/duties.
  • Demonstrates approach and communication skills appropriate to the population served, which may include: Neonate/Infant (birth
  • Assists in other work assigned/requested, with clerical duties and marketing functions.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
  • Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in workload by altering working hours to assist in other areas/centers/programs as approved and observed by supervisor/manager.
  • Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.
  • Complies with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payors as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds results.
