PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:

At ADU, our primary customers are students, faculty, and staff. Our partners are physicians, allied health clinicians and other employees of Florida Hospital.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Student Worker participates in a variety of settings and different areas to gain a general understanding of the healthcare delivery system. Assists with administrative responsibilities, customer service, and student housing resident support tasks. Supports library circulation desk activities. Participates in transport and food preparation. Provides support to faculty. Prepares and restocks labs and assists with building maintenance. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to communicate with University administration, faculty, staff, and others internal and external to the University.

• Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Ability to seek and foster a cooperative, professional work environment with an emphasis on honesty, integrity, and a positive attitude.

• Ability to be self-directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Current student at Adventist University of Health Sciences

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the “Four Words” Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship

• Assists with administrative responsibilities, which includes but is not limited to, phone coverage, data entry, scanning, filing, sorting and distributing mail.

• Conducts phone campaigns and University tours for prospective students. Answers questions about ADU and assist with call center duties.

• Assists with working Library Circulation Desk, which includes but is not limited to, retrieving reserve books, checking items in or out and shelving books.

• Collects recycling from departments, cleans, organizes and re-stocks various labs.

• Assists with Student Housing Resident support, which includes but is not limited to, nightly check-in and curfew management. Provides counsel and guidance to residents.

• Assists with building maintenance, which includes but is not limited to, cleaning various areas, insect control procedures, painting, minor plumbing and furniture repair at Student Housing.

• Provides support to various faculty, which includes but is not limited to, grading papers and tests.

• Providing assistance with special assignments and projects.
